Normally no one ever bothers us when we’re out taking photos. In fact, I don’t think we do. When we took these shots a few weeks ago someone actually asked us what we were doing and seemed a little concerned.
That story doesn’t have much to do with the actual piece, but it does make me wonder a bit how much trouble the people who do this actually get into sometimes, or how little.
Harlequinade has these awesome wheat pastes in Fishtown/ Northern Liberties located under the El.
The incredibly talented and amazing artist NoseGo, along with Mad Decent, did this amazing mural on the side of the PhilaMOCA building at 10th and Spring Garden. We were thrilled to get a chance to shoot this piece, and the amount of detail is astounding! The piece uses multiple textures, some printed, and a really interesting painting technique. Not only that, but the subject matter, as always, is pretty interesting. Our main hope is to one day get to ask him what the symbolism is of these animals, if any, and what he enjoys about painting them.
Tober is, quite easily, the most wanted and notorious street artists in Philly right now. Cops wanna catch him, artists want to hang with him, and reporters want to interview him (seriously, hit us up!), and we had the chance to check out a ton of his coolest pieces lying around NoLibs! So sit back, relax, and enjoy these photos.
So while in Northern Liberties / North Philly (You know, sometimes I think that depends on who you ask), we came across this. I had a good chuckle, since it really does show how far social networking online has become a part of our entire culture. It’s a really sweet throw-up and wildstyle piece!
Pipelines and I finally got to Northern Liberties, and while we were sniffing around the Piazza at Schmidt’s after hitting Jinxed and Creep Records, we found this awesome little piece on an abandoned building.
Its done by local up-and-comer LiesInPhila, who has an amazing website showing his work and an added benefit of checking out where they’ve been that was last updated in July. I think we have some traveling to do.
